Biography

Art has been something that I have always loved, even as a young girl. Throughout my schooling, I was always praised for my art. It was also my major in high school. As a teenager, I used to paint large seasonal murals on restaurant windows. This also led into designing posters for restaurants, and helped to pay for my college course that I took in business. I worked in an office environment for approximately 12 years but always stayed in touch with my art thru courses and extra employment opportunities. The office experience that I gained now helps with the accounting end of my business.
I opened my own business "Simply Cotton" approximately 10 years ago and have been demonstrating acrylic painting now for over 16 years. I have a home studio in the attic of our renovated farm house. We incorporated a large dormo that houses 5 windows. This not only allows for great lighting but provides a wonderful view of our barn, fields and lake. The tongue and groove walls are kept light in a white wash finish with furniture accents of red and black. The entire space is an inspiration on it's own. I also travel teach and attend annual trade conventions each year where I teach classes and host a booth with Princeton Brushes.
Art has played a huge role in my life, from painting windows to walls to canvas or wood! Not only do I achieve personal satisfaction from my works, but also I create to bring joy to others! May the years to come continue to be enhanced by more of my artist endeavors!
Best Regards,
Deb Cotton
